Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 adds yet another Game of the Year award to the list, this time from the DICE Awards

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 secured five awards at this week’s Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences’ (AIAS) DICE Awards (not to be confused with EA’s Stockholm studio of the same name), including the coveted Game of the Year prize, while Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei secured three, including for Adventure Game of the Year.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach won Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design and Outstanding Technical Achievement, and the fabulous puzzle mystery game Blue Prince secured awards for Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design.

Arc Raiders secured the prize for Online Game of the Year, South of Midnight beat out the competition in the Outstanding Achievement in Animation, and Lego Party won Family Game of the Year.

Other winners include Persona 5: The Phantom X (Mobile Game of the Year), Ghost Town (Immersive Reality Game of the Year), The Alters (Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year), Rematch (Sports Game of the Year), Mario Kart World (Racing Game of the Year), Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection (Fighting Game of the Year), and Hades 2 (Action Game of the Year).

“The games recognised at this year’s DICE Awards showcase the extraordinary range of talent and creativity that define our industry,” said Meggan Scavio, president of AIAS.

“It’s inspiring to see how these developers continue to elevate interactive entertainment through innovation, storytelling, and meaningful player experiences.”

Naughty Dog co-founder Evan Wells follows in the footsteps of developers like Double Fine’s Tim Schafer and was inducted into AIAS’ Hall of Fame at the ceremony.

The ceremony also held a tribute to Respawn co-founder and Call of Duty co-creator Vince Zampella, who was killed in a car collision in December.
