All the fan theories were correct: Dragon’s Dogma 2 is getting an expansion later this year… plus a Nintendo Switch 2 port.
Capcom surprise-announced the Switch 2 port of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen – yes, the expanded version directly borrows its title from the original – during today’s Nintendo Direct.
No further details were shared, but the Dark Arisen DLC will open up a new snowy area as suggested by Capcom’s sneaky teases. It’ll come out on 9th October, and we’re hoping it’ll release on other platforms as well on the same date.
The announcement of such an ambitious port also raises a number of questions regarding performance, as Dragon’s Dogma 2 was particularly heavy on current-gen hardware, but it doesn’t come as an absolute shock following other high-profile third-party ports. It follows the just-announced Monster Hunter Wilds and Onimusha ports from Capcom.
Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.
