I hope your wallet and social lives are ready, because September 2026 is looking like an absolute disaster for game releases. Today, at a Nintendo Direct, the publisher finally announced a release date Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. The game arrives 17th September, 2026 and will be arriving exclusively on Switch 2. Nintendo also announced there will be a physical edition including some bonus items releasing on the same day.
The next entry in Nintendo’s much-loved tactical role-playing series will be the first entry since 2023’s Switch game Fire Emblem: Engage, which launched to muted reception, especially compared to 2019’s massively successful, new fan-attracting Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
The main gimmick of Fortune’s Weave appears to be a focus on four main protagonists, each of which you can follow to learn more about their stories. The over-arching narrative will be set in a huge arena, where you play through the ‘Heroic Games’ as some sort of bigger conspriacy unfolds behind the scenes.
“Discover an intertwining story of strength and steel in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, only on Nintendo Switch 2,” reads an official blurb on a trailer for the game.
