A new firmware update has come to the Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the handheld console to version 21.0.1. This update fixes a hugely frustrating bluetooth connection issue, and brings other much-needed improvements too.
Previously, the Switch 2 would fail to connect with bluetooth controllers or audio devices when either waking from sleep mode or leaving airplane mode. Now, on version 21.0.1, this is a struggle of the past.
In addition, the Switch 2 has also received a selection of stability improvements, bettering the overall experience using the console. While less of a highlight of the update, who doesn’t love stability improvements?
The original Nintendo Switch also got a firmware update, bringing that console up to version 21.0.1 as well. This update has fixed an issue where Error Code: 2011-0301 or Error Code: 2168-0002 would pop up repeatedly when trying to use the system transfer feature. This should hopefully make the shift from Switch 1 to Switch 2 less frustrating for impacted players.
The original Switch also received a suite of stability tweaks too, which again, is lovely news for those still kicking about with the Switch.
The Switch 2 is outpacing even the PS4 in terms of early sales, which paints an especially great (and profitable) picture for Nintendo with the release of its latest console. If you’ve not picked up the Switch 2 yet, you can check out Eurogamer’s review!

The same but slightly different, ditto the Joy-Con, which now snap into place with a lovely magnetic thunk, and which are now removed with a bumpy trigger thing that still feels a little nerve-wracking each time I do it.”
