Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 — Everything Announced

Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 — Everything Announced

Microsoft is at Tokyo Game Show 2026 with a special broadcast event, and IGN is reporting live on all the news, trailers, and talking points.

The action kicks off on Thursday, September 17 at 3am PT / 6am / ET / 11am UK / 7pm JST, with ‘Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast.’ Microsoft has said to expect an “exciting lineup of games coming to the platform this year.” It will be hosted by Misuzu Araki, and will include “TGS-exclusive content, new gameplay, and moments built specifically for this stage.”

“Our annual Tokyo Game Show broadcast is proof of what is possible when creativity from across the region meets a truly global platform and Xbox is committed to being the stage where new and beloved franchises reach players around the world,” Microsoft continued. The show will also be broadcast with American Sign Language (ASL), and English Audio Descriptions (AD).

So, what should we expect from the broadcast? I think for Xbox fans, it’s worth managing expectations. Xbox has Minecraft Dungeons 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 at TGS itself, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see both games during the broadcast. It’s worth remembering that Playground’s Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan, so maybe now would be a good time for an update on future content — and that pesky PS5 version.

Beyond that, I expect to see games from Asian studios that are currently working with Xbox. Maybe RGG Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven, which we know is down to be a day one launch on Game Pass, will turn up with a new trailer. Team Ninja’s Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is also due out early next year and is set for Game Pass, so maybe we’ll see it there, too.

The big question is, will Hideo Kojima appear during the broadcast to talk about OD? Given everything that’s gone on with Physint lately, I’d be surprised. But you never know.

We’ll have live updates below, starting from about 30 minutes before go time. Check back for everything announced, and let us know what you’re hoping to see in the comments.
