The next Life is Strange game will be revealed next week, following PEGI rating leak

The next game in the Life is Strange series will be unveiled later this month.

The Life is Strange team has announced a livestream, which it will host via YouTube on 20th January, at 6pm for those of us in the UK. That’s 10am PST / 1pm EST / 7pm CET for those in other parts of the world.

“Separate the real from the rumour… Join us for the exclusive reveal of the next Life is Strange game,” reads the official YouTube video description. You see, news of the upcoming livestream comes one week after a PEGI listing revealed another Life is Strange game was in the works.

At the time of this slip, it was disclosed that fan-favourites Chloe Price and Max Caulfield would feature in the next Life is Strange game, which will be known as Reunion.

“Chloe Price was Max Caulfield’s partner in time… Losing her is Max’s greatest regret. Now Chloe has come to Caledon University. Haunted by nightmares and impossible memories, Chloe needs Max’s help. But Max is already in crisis: in three days, a deadly inferno will destroy the campus,” reads the game’s outline on the PEGI website.

The most recent entry in the Life is Strange series was Life is Strange: Double Exposure, which was released in November 2024. This game launched amidst a major backlash from fans, who were upset at how Double Exposure handled the ongoing storyline of returning protagonist Max Caulfield, and the impact of players’ choice at the beginning of the first Life is Strange.

Double Exposure was reportedly a loss for Square Enix and following its release, developer Deck Nine suffered layoffs. CEO Mark Lyons stated at the time: “This was an extremely difficult decision and reflects the challenging times our industry is currently facing.”
