If you’ve been keenly watching the Winter Olympics, and wish you could live with some of that chilling sportiness yourself, you may be in luck. A new browser game, called LUGE 2026, is out now for your pleasure.
LUGE 2026, created by Ste Curran, grants three daily attempts to race down a 2D track as fast as possible, all while hitting as many boosts as possible and avoiding big wipeouts. You can then compare your time to a global leaderboard of likeminded Luge enthusiasts.
You can even input ghost codes to see other player’s runs during your attempt, if you’re trying to improve your time or take a more direct challenge to your friend’s own attempts.
If the name Ste Curran sounds familiar to you, then it probably is. Ste has written for Eurogamer, used to write for Edge magazine, and hosts the One Life Left podcast.
This may be the best bet for some Olympics-themed gaming right now. This, thanks to the IOC ditching bigger budget Olympics games like the Sonic & Mario Olympics series in favour of esports and NFTs.
If you do try it out, do let us know your best times below! Race on, Winter Olympics lovers. Try not to let your boss see you play it at work…
