Pokémon Pokopia’s second limited-time event adds Sableye in late April, but you can already cheat your way into it

Pokémon Pokopia continues to be one of the most talked-about games of early 2026, and with the ‘More Spores for Hoppip‘ event adding three new creatures to Game Freak and Omega Force’s life sim title right after launch, it seems we’ll be regularly getting a lot of new visitors.

We’ve learned via Nintendo Life that Dark/Ghost-type Pokémon Sableye is coming soon to the game. More specifically, the limited-time event to grab him will be live around 29th April. Many Pokopia players aren’t playing by the rules, however, so we aren’t shocked to hear they’ve cheated their way into the event early.

Discovered as soon as the game launched, players can time travel in Pokopia by simply altering the Nintendo Switch 2‘s date and time. This can lead to unintended effects, but also to intended ones, such as kicking off events before they’re supposed to go live… as long as the required files are already in the game. In the case of the first two events, it appears they were included from the get-go inside the download.

Content creators like PhillyBeatzU made the Sableye discovery a while back, but it’s only now that it’s gaining traction, probably because many players started wondering about future events after Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff’s departure. (By the way, it seems you can just “travel back in time” to reactivate the event if you missed it.)

While many players, myself included, would rather wait until the actual event times to welcome new visitors, it’s interesting to get early looks at what’s coming to the game next. With 2.2m copies sold only during its launch weekend, the Pokémon spinoff is off to an amazing start, so it’s safe to expect lengthy and substantial support for this one well into the future.
