Loads of MTG Commander Decks Are Discounted as Part of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale

Magic: The Gathering’s Commander format is its most popular, and it doesn’t hurt that Wizards of the Coast keeps releasing fresh decks that let you jump into a game with friends.

We’ve cast our eye over Amazon’s stocks during the big Spring Sale, and we’ve found some decent discounts on 100-card precons. Here are our favorites, including options from within and beyond Magic’s own IP.

These Precons Are All On Sale

Food and Fellowship

Food and Fellowship

Let’s kick things off with a beloved Universes Beyond set, Tales of Middle-earth. There are no fewer than three decks on sale for the set right now, but arguably the easiest recommendation is Food and Fellowship.

Frodo and Sam lead this precon, and it’s packed with some great cards that make use of Food tokens while also having some bite with cards like Toxic Deluge. It’s not $59.95, a discount of 24% from the list price.

Elven Council

Elven Council

Also available are Elven Council (which is focused on a fun voting theme), and Riders of Rohan, which is a particularly well-constructed deck that’s all about creating humans and turning them sideways.

Limit Break (Game Edition)

Limit Break (Game Edition)

Next up, the Cloud Strife-helmed Limit Break (Game Edition) Commander Deck is discounted by 27%. The deck includes Cloud, Tifa, and other Final Fantasy 7 characters, and focuses on an equipment theme.

Not only that, but this version includes an exclusive promo card and a code for the original Final Fantasy 7 on PC. It’s down to $72.97 from $99.99.

Science!

Science!

Our final Universes Beyond Commander Deck is Science, from the Fallout set of precons. It’s an energy-focused deck that includes Dr. Madison Li alongside Liberty Prime, Recharged. It’s the weaker of the Fallout decks, but still ideal for fans – especially at $52.41.

Tricky Terrain

Tricky Terrain

Next up, Tricky Terrain from Modern Horizons 3 is down to $53.84 from $70. It’s a unique deck that ramps up lands and uses its Commander, Omo, Queen of Vesuva, to make those lands all types, and creatures all types, too. It takes a while to get your head around, but it’s fantastic once you do.

Animated Army

Animated Army

Much easier to jump into is Animated Army from Bloomburrow, which is down to $41.45 from $47.30. A small discount, sure, but this deck is a fun one to play if you want to play some big hitters with minimal mana costs.

Before we come to the last set included in these Commander Deck deals, it’s worth pointing out that up until this year, all of the Commander decks included a Collector Sample Booster Pack. These include just two cards, but are designed to tempt you into Collector Boosters. Only you can make a judgment on how much value there is in these for yourself, but it’s worth noting that since Lorwyn Eclipsed, these aren’t included.

Dance of the Elements

Dance of the Elements

Onto Lorwyn Eclipsed, then, and there are two decks for this set – and both are pretty great. Dance of the Elements is a five-color precon that’s all about bringing big, powerful elementals into play as swiftly as possible. It’s down to $33.95, which honestly feels like a steal – I’ve had a ton of fun playing this deck.

Blight Curse

Blight Curse

Its counterpart, Blight Curse, is all about -1/-1 counters, and debuffing your opponents – or taking control of their creatures when you use The Reaper, King No More. It’s $41.10, down from $49.99.

Lorwyn Commander Bundle

Lorwyn Commander Bundle

Can’t decide between the two? The bundle of two of each deck is still down to $120.67. That makes it ideal to pick up with a friend if you both want the two decks for yourselves, and that way, you’re getting each for $30.

Growing Threat

Growing Threat

Finally, there’s a 5% discount on the March of the Machine precon, Growing Threat. It’s a White/Black deck helmed by Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos or Moira and Teshar.
