The Super Mario Galaxy Movie actors Charlie Day and Chris Pratt appear to confirm earlier film leak

Actors Chris Pratt and Charlie Day appear to have confirmed an earlier Super Mario Galaxy Movie leak, while also sharing how to actually pronounce Mario (it’s Maaa-rio, apparently, not Ma-rio).

Please be aware of potential spoilers for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie below.

Pratt and Day – who voice brothers Mario and Luigi in the animated Super Mario films – were recently guests on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show to promote the upcoming Galaxy-themed sequel. Here, the duo took part in a game addressing some of the most popular Super Mario Galaxy fan theories, which have been making the rounds over recent months. Basically, Pratt and Day were asked a number of questions by their host, and then had to push down on either a red Koopa shell or a Mario question mark block to suggest whether the fan theory was true or false (the shell meant false, the question mark block meant true)

Some of these theories like would we be seeing a third Mario brother were dismissed, but one question in particular caused both Pratt and Day to pause before they eventually answered it – will we be seeing Wario and Waluigi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie?

Now, those who have been following our film coverage over the last few weeks will recall that a cinema chain accidentally suggested that Wario would be appearing in the upcoming sequel, even though he hasn’t appeared in any of the marketing so far. However, I think Pratt and Day have just confirmed this little slip of the tongue to be accurate, as when asked if Wario and Waluigi would appear in the film, the twosome deliberated for a moment before pushing both the Koopa shell and the question mark block at the same, suggesting that at least one of these characters will show up.

You can check out the full Super Mario Galaxy segment from Jimmy Fallon Tonight below (I am still not convinced by their Mario pronunciation).

There isn’t much longer before we will know if Nintendo and Illumination are indeed going to add Wario to the animated film fray, as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to release next month, on 1st April.

Along with heroes like Mario, Luigi, Peach and Rosalina, retro-enemy Wart will also be making their wicked return in the upcoming sequel, alongside Birdo and the black-clad Ninjis.
