Aspyr has released a patch for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, which takes aim at the game’s new outfit textures, which were widely criticised on their release.
Last month, Aspyr released a free new Challenge Mode update for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, which included unlockable outfits for Lara along with difficulty customisation options and more. However, the quality of this update wasn’t exactly great, and many accused the team of using AI for the outfits – terms like “Slop Raider” were bandied about soon after this update went live.

Aspyr soon issued a statement denying it had used generative AI for the update’s creation, and promised a fix to improve textures as a priority.
Thankfully, Aspyr has been good on its word, and released a patch for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered that does just that. And, so far, it seems the Tomb Raider community is pleased with the results. “OMGGGG THEY UPGRADED THE COSTUMESSS THEY LOOK SO GOOD AND DETAILED,” reads one post on social media.
“The difference is crazy,” another post from the same user adds. “I wonder why they decided to release these costumes with those lava textures, they look completely different now.”
You can check out the full Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered patch notes as shared by Aspyr below. Please note that the update is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 1, PC and Android, but those on Nintendo Switch 2 will need to wait a little longer.

The team added a second patch related to Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered’s Challenge Mode is also in the works. “We are actively reviewing game crashes, save game bugs, AI, and inventory issues,” Aspyr closed.
On its original release back in 2024, we awarded Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered four stars, while acknowledging some of its dated qualities.
“I still love this collection, because it’s carefully made and lovingly updated, but also awkward, elbowy, frustrating and prone to leaving me stuck. It’s a collection that understands that Tomb Raider was absolutely a game about its controls, and it still should be – even if it doesn’t quite know how to deliver on that,” Christian Donlan wrote in his Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered review.
