Finally some fresh Bloodborne-flavoured news, though alas, not news that it is coming to PC.
As announced during Cinemacon, FromSoft’s Bloodborne is the latest video game to be getting the adaptation treatment, and will become an R-Rated animated feature from Sony Pictures in partnership with YouTuber Seán McLoughlin (aka, JackSepticEye) and Lyrical Animation.
JackSepticEye currently has 31.2 million YouTube subscribers, and is a known Bloodborne aficionado – his game playthrough videos alone have amassed millions of views from his community.
“I am going to do everything in my power to make this the BEST Bloodborne adaptation possible,” JackSepticEye said. “Not only is it my favourite game ever made but I know how truly passionate the fans of this game are and how much hunger they have for more of it.
“I can’t share much about the project right now but man does it feel good to let you all know it’s happening!”
According to Variety, the upcoming Bloodborne animation will be just as gruesome and violent as the game it is based on. The studio will “embrace the carnage that made the game so popular”, the publication said.
Other adaptations coming from Sony Pictures, meanwhile, include Helldivers, Horizon Zero Dawn and The Legend of Zelda, the latter of which has recently finished filming in New Zealand. The Legend of Zelda film is due for release on 7th May, 2027.
As for other popular PlayStation franchises, we recently got our first look at Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus in Amazon’s upcoming God of War live-action TV series.
