After some critical ups and downs, Silent Hill 2 (2024) and Cronos: The New Dawn (2025) solidified Bloomer Team as a horror-focused developer to watch out for. As new projects pile up, the company has announced it’s growing in size.
Via GamesIndustry.biz, we’ve learned the developer is expanding its leadership “as it transitions to a multi-project structure” which currently has the studio working on two first-party single-player horror games “plus five more in co-development.”
Following the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Layers of Fear and the reveal of a third entry in the series, a Nintendo-exclusive title should be coming this year. Beyond that, we know Bloober has been teasing a very busy year ahead plus a remake of the original Silent Hill in collaboration with Konami. Considering its decent enough success, we also wouldn’t rule out a sequel to Cronos being on the cards.
For now, the developer has announced three new appointments: Thaine Lyman (an Activision and Wargaming veteran) as head of studio, Katya Baukova (Techland and CD Projekt) as director of business development, and Michał Gembicki (Klabater SA and CD Projekt) as head of publishing.
CEO Piotr Babieno says “Bloober Team will continue to operate with two ‘first-party’ production teams working on the studio’s major releases.” According to him, it’s just a strategic expansion to ensure Bloober’s survivability “because relying on a single title creates too much risk in today’s market.” At the same time, he underlines the studio is trying not to bite too much too fast: “We’re not interested in growth for the sake of numbers. We believe players don’t need a constant flood of releases.”
The trick here might be its focus on only two first-party games while co-developing five more titles through the Broken Mirror Games label. Layers of Fear 3 is part of that effort, with Anshar Studios rumoured to be the other half of the development team-up.
