Dead by Daylight Behavior Interactive appears to have suffered fresh layoffs, as senior animator announces sudden departure

Behavior Interactive appears to have laid off a number of employees from the company. The exact number of affected workers has yet to be confirmed.

News of these layoffs come from the social media posts of a now-former employee, explaining their situation online. Eurogamer has contacted Behavior Interactive to find out the full scope of these layoffs, and why they’ve happened.

The employee in question is Jonathan Veiga, who was a senior animator on Dead by Daylight, who wrote: “Welp.. unfortunately, I was affected by the layoffs from Behaviour. I honestly didn’t think it was going to happen to me. If anyone is looking for an animator, you can let me know via DMs. At least I’m still with Rivals of Aether. I’ll be submitting my updated demo reel shortly. “

Behavior Interactive last suffered layoffs in June, 2024. Up to 95 employees were cut, which the company said in a press release were driven by a need to “focus on its historical strengths”. This came following an early wave of layoffs in January that same year.

Since then, Behavior Interactive has been free from additional staff reductions. The company only recently announced the acquisition of 7 Day to Die developer Fun Pimps. The company also has Serious Sam: Shatterverse on the way, revealed during a recent Xbox Partner Showcase.

This article will be updated once an official response from Behavior Interactive is released.
