Crimson Desert patch adds difficulty options

In terms of the major highlights, the main one are obviously the difficulty changes. The new easy option reduces damage taken by the player, reduces health, speed, and aggressiveness of enemies, makes parrying and dodging easier, and makes bosses counter attack or escape less often after being hit.

On the flip side, the hard difficulty option reverses all those aforementioned points, so you’ll be taking more damage for example. On top of all that, food items don’t restore health immediately, instead this will only happen after the animation is completed. In addition, the invincibility duration for dodge rolls has been reduced. There are even additional combat patterns for certain bosses.

A smaller note in the patch notes, but meaningful nonetheless, is that all bosses have seen significant changes. They are now no longer immune to damage while performing certain powerful attacks, and the frequency in which they counter attack or dodge has been altered too.

The player’s house has some new exciting storage items. These include a sturdy gatherable chest, a Kuku cooler, a collectibles chest, and an outfit storage chest. There are also five new types of cat pets. Have fun!

There are also some impactful changes to skills. While many skills have seen tweaks and little improvements, such as Improved Force Current no longer pushing Kliff off ledges, Demain and Oongka have new skills to play around with. Both have received a new skill called Ambush, as well as a new skill with the same effect as Kliff’s Force Palm.

As for controls improvements, new presets should allow players to better handle the action RPG. Ify ou’ve been unhappy with the default, new alternatives may allow you to find something more comfortable. The patch notes also mentioned that custom layouts are on the way, so hang on tight if there’s still nothing that suits you.

There’s also a new option that allows for immediate interaction actions to be taken once the appropriate key is pressed. What this means is, the moment you try and pick something up off the ground, it will now happen without delay. If there are overlapping interactables nearby, this instant press will be seamlessly swapped for a button-hold prompt. As such, you shouldn’t be accidentally picking up junk any more.

All in all, it’s a packed patch yet again for an ever-popular game. Do these address your major problems with the game?
