Screenshots and details of the unannounced Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition has briefly popped up on the Xbox store.

As spotted by Nintendo Everything, Xbox called the game the “definitive experience” complete with “4K resolution, 60FPS, and modern enhancements, including new quality-of-life features”. Oh, and it has a recommended retail price of $1,999.99. Make of that what you will.

In news unlikely to surprise you, the page is offline now, but not quite in time to stop people grabbing screenshots and the details.

The blurb reads: “When the Glade of Dreams is overrun by “nefurrious” Darktoons, the Fairy Council summons Rayman to save the day. Joined by his best friend, Globox, and two crafty wizards, the Teensies, this unlikely team must restore balance before their world fades away like a bad dream.”

Key Features

  • Make your way through over 60 handcrafted levels filled with hidden paths, evolving abilities, and memorable boss encounters, from a giant pink monster with hundreds of eyes to a possessed mountainous golem or a carnivorous daisy. Hunt down secrets and collectibles to unlock new rewards and complete your journey.
  • Enjoy Rayman Origins like never before with 4K resolution, 60 FPS, and modern enhancements, including new quality-of-life features. Discover 60 hidden Relics across the adventure and track your progress in the Snoring Tree.
  • Explore the Glade of Dreams, brought to life with a unique hand-drawn art style and a colorful cast of over 100 characters across diverse, wildly imaginative worlds.
  • Work together, compete for rewards, and turn every level into a shared, unforgettable adventure, as you play in up to 4-player couch co-op.

The same thing happened with the much-rumoured Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition, too. One of the worst-kept secrets in gaming – alongside the leaky Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake – the unannounced Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition popped up on the Australian Classification Board before we knew it existed. Then, on the 30th anniversary of the Rayman series, towards the end of last year, brand producer Loic Gounon spoke about the history of the series and provided a little teaser of what’s to come.

Series creator Michel Ancel further fueled speculation in February when he teased that a remake of the original Rayman game is on the way. It was finally formally announced a week later.

Just try to look surprised if/when this pops up during Summer Game Fest.
