Along with the slew of new game announcments during the Summer Game Fest showcase, developer Pocket Pair revealed that Palworld 1.0 is coming July 10 this year. You may be thinking, hasn’t Palworld been around for a couple years already? Well, yeah, but it’s been an early access game this entire time released on PC and Xbox Series X|S back in January 2024 and PS5 in September 2024.
There isn’t too much information about the specific new content coming along with the full release, but you can check out the Palworld 1.0 cinematic trailer in the meantime. Earlier this year, Pocket Pair said it wouldn’t rule out a Palworld 2.0 in due time, but wouldn’t want to commit to 10 years-worth of updates as a long-term vision.
Even if you don’t play Palworld, you probably caught wind of it when it garnered the attention of Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, which led to a legal battle over the patent of similar gameplay mechanics. Either way, it turned out wildly popular and is a solid game having earned an 8/10 in our early access Palworld review.
