Citizen Sleeper – and its sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – are coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this month.
In the Story-Rich Showcase, creator Gareth Damian Martin not only confirmed that the new Switch 2 editions are set to drop on 25th June, but also revealed that if you already own either game on Switch already, you’ll be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 edition for no additional charge.
Towards the end of the presentation, Martin appeared to say: “I’m dropping in for just a little announcement. I’m happy to reveal that Citizen Sleeper 1 and 2 will be releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 on 25th June.
“If you already own either game, you’ll be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 edition for free on that day, too. But that’s not all.
“On 7th June, that’s tomorrow, I’ll be in the PC Gaming Show to reveal my brand new game in a world premiere.”
The original 2022 Citizen Sleeper received an Eurogamer Recommended on release, whilst its 2025 sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, secured 5/5 in Eurogamer’s review, in which Bertie wrote: “With a new found sense of tension, and showpiece Contract missions, Citizen Sleeper is transformed. This follow-up has improved the RPG formula in every way”.
