Modern Warfare 4 Beta Dates Confirmed

Activision and Infinity Ward have confirmed dates for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta tests across PC, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox devices.

The team behind this year’s first-person shooter installment revealed its playtest plans with a blog post on their website. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 players who pre-ordered on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S can dive in first when beta early access runs from August 21 – 25, with Nintendo Switch 2 joining the mix when the open beta takes place between August 28 – September 1.

It’s all set to truly kick off immediately after the Call of Duty Next presentation comes to an end August 21. A brief description for this year’s event promises “live gameplay, an in-depth briefing on the lineup of content coming to Modern Warfare 4’s Multiplayer, developer insights, and new reveals ahead of the beta.”

Exactly which weapons, Operators, maps, and modes will be featured in the beta have yet to be revealed, but Activision and Infinity Ward did give players a taste of what’s to come. Of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s launch content, the post promises 19 different weapons, 3v3 skirmishes, tanks, Kill Block, and more.

“Get ready to drop into multiple Multiplayer maps and modes,” the post said, “choosing from a wide selection of brand-new Operators, including all the Vault Edition Operators for players who pre-order the Vault Edition, and unlocking as many as 19 different weapons before deploying into everything from small-scale 3v3 skirmishes to massive tactical battles featuring tanks and more. Test your mettle across new and returning modes, from Search & Destroy to the brand-new Kill Block, plus the Training Mobility Course.”

The post added that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta players will be able to build loadouts with the new Gunny system. More information on the upcoming tests will be revealed “soon.”

Elsewhere in the post is confirmation for what the Vault Edition unlocks during the beta, with pre-order purchasers able to use Operators Price, Valeria, Ghost, and Blix, for example. Meanwhile, Switch 2 users can now officially look forward to locking in their pre-order starting August 26 as Call of Duty returns to Nintendo platforms for the first time in years.
