The Gathering Cards from Innistrad Remastered

The Gathering Cards from Innistrad Remastered

Magic: The Gathering’s first set of the year, Innistrad Remastered, marks the fourth such remaster Wizards of the Coast has released over the years.

Incorporating cards from Shadows over Innistrad, Innistrad Midnight Hunt, Innistrad Crimson Vow, and Innistrad itself, it’s a set packed with shlocky horror and vampiric vibes.

Thanks to data from the team at TCGPlayer, we’ve got a full rundown of the priciest cards from the set, but as you’ll see, one certainly runs away with things.

The most valuable Innistrad Remastered cards

Edgar Markov (Retro Frame) – $16.28

Edgar Markov

Magic: The Gathering Edgar Markov

He may take up four spots on our top 10 (at least at the time of writing), but this Edgar Markov (Retro Frame) kicks off our list with the retro frame (I have some of these from Brothers War in my collection ,and they look great).

He’s all about typal synergies with vampires, and this is the cheapest way to get hold of him from this set.

The Meathook Massacre (Retro Frame) – $17.29

The Meathook Massacre

Magic: The Gathering The Meathook Massacre

Another card you can expect to see a whopping three times on this list, The Meathook Massacre (Retro Frame) is the first version of this Legendary Enchantment which can be a board wipe and a game-ender all at once.

It’s around $17 for this version, with upcoming ones climbing slightly.

Edgar Markov (Showcase) – $17.54

Edgar Markov

Magic: The Gathering Edgar Markov

Yep, he’s back, and the detailing on this Edgar Markov (Showcase) variant is a nice touch that adds a little extra gothic flair.

It’s also nice to see the man himself in the frame without his flunkies, and this one will set you back around $18.

The Meathook Massacre – $18.84

The Meathook Massacre

Magic: The Gathering The Meathook Massacre

Well, this is awkward. Four cards in and we’ve seen two versions of the same cards, but this is the basic version of The Meathook Massacre, complete with a more modern frame.

It’s just under $19 at the time of writing.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope (Retro Frame) – $19.09

Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Magic: The Gathering Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Avacyn, Angel of Hope (Retro Frame) marks our first non-Markov, non-Meathook card, and she gives us hope for more unique cards (get it?).

This powerful Angel’s retro frame is great, as is the ability to make everything else indestructible, and she can be yours for around $20.

Emrakul, the Promised End (Showcase) – $20.58

Emrakul, the Promised End

Magic: The Gathering Emrakul, the Promised End

The first of a series of movie poster-like cards in this set, Emrakul, the Promised End (Showcase) is just over $20 and offers a neat horror/sci-fi vibe on a big ol’ Eldrazi monster that can pinch one of your rival’s cards.

Edgar Markov – $20.79

Edgar Markov

Magic: The Gathering Edgar Markov

Guess who’s back? Edgar Markov’s standard version fetches just over $20, so if you’re looking for the man himself (vampire himself?) with a more traditional look, this is the one.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope (Showcase) – $21.95

Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Magic: The Gathering Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Another version of Avacyn, Angel of Hope, this Showcase art shows her in the clutches of, well, something, and it’s not much pricier than the standard version if you can find it.

The Meathook Massacre (Showcase) – $22.57

The Meathook Massacre

Magic: The Gathering The Meathook Massacre

The final Meathook Massacre (which sounds an awful lot like a franchise-ending sequel) has cool treatment that’s more cartoonish than grisly, and goes for around $23.

Edgar Markov (Showcase – Serial Numbered) – $2,264.91

Edgar Markov

Magic: The Gathering Edgar Markov

Showcase – Serial Numbered

Nope, that’s not a typo. This set’s second-place most valuable card goes for under $25, but its first-place one really does go for upwards of $2,200.

Edgar Markov (Showcase – Serial Numbered) marks the set’s ‘Headliner’, a specific card the art team goes wild with, and this one is serialized.

Functionally, it’s the same card as the other Edgar Markovs on this list, but if you’re really into that artwork you can expect to pay a pretty penny for it.
