The wait is over. The spectacular Hades 2 – five stars, if you ask Eurogamer, which you should – is coming to Xbox and PlayStation 5 on 14th April. It’ll also be a Game Pass game and a Play Anywhere title.
The date was announced during the Xbox Partner Preview today, and it marks the end of a kind of exclusivity period for Hades 2 on PC and Switch.
Hades 2 was released last September. It follows the adventures of Zagreus’ sister Melinoë as she tries to battle her way back to the underworld you, as Zagreus, tried to battle your way out of in Hades 1. All sorts of things have gone wrong since then, you see, all due to the arrival of titan timelord Chronos.
All of the exquisite presentation and taught gameplay returns from Hades, here expanded and supplemented by new ideas and tactical possibilities. Dom reviewed Hades 2 for Eurogamer and wrote: “Maybe it’s witchcraft. Maybe it’s magic. Either way, Supergiant manages to draw down the moon with its Herculean action and epic narrative in Hades 2.”
