High on Life 2 Release Date Reveals Delay to February 2026

Developer Squanch Games has announced a release date for High on Life 2 that will see its first-person shooter comedy sequel launch February 13, 2026.

Updated plans for the sci-fi follow-up were announced in an Xbox Wire post that also includes new details about its cast, gameplay, and more. It’s an early 2026 release date that doubles as a small delay for High on Life 2, which was previously announced to come to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S and Game Pass before winter 2025 came to a close.

The small shift comes with the news that Final Fantasy 16 and The Fantastic Four: First Steps actor Ralph Ineson has officially joined the cast. Players who pick up High on Life 2 in February will hear him as Sheath, a new character and boss that players will soon encounter. He’s joined by returning cast members, including Betsy Sodaro as Sweezy and J.B. Smoove as Gus. Inside Out and A Bug’s Life star Richard Kind is also part of the cast as Senator Muppy Doo.

High on Life 2 was announced at the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase as a sequel to Squanch’s popular 2022 video game. The original won over players with its cast of talking guns and its many laughs upon release, going on to secure its place as one of the biggest Game Pass launches ever. It proved to be so popular that work on a High on Life show was eventually announced in 2024.

One instrumental member of the High on Life cast was Rick and Morty co-creator and then-Squanch CEO Justin Roiland. He resigned from the company in January 2023, one month after High on Life’s launch, following the discovery that he had been charged with domestic battery and false imprisonment. Charges were then dropped in March of that same year.

High on Life 2 is currently set to launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox platforms early next year. In the meantime, you can download the original on Xbox Game Pass following its return to the service last month.
