It’s been a while since we’ve had an update, but From’s parent company promises Duskbloods is still coming out this year

FromSoftware’s parent company Kadokawa has confirmed both The Duskbloods and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition are still planned to release on Switch 2 this year.

Elden Ring was first revealed to be coming to Switch 2 last year, though a release date was notably absent from the announcement beyond 2025. That has – clearly – now passed, with the release window of the Nintendo Switch 2’s Elden Ring port pushed back to “allow time for performance adjustments”.

Many had then hoped to hear a release date for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, as it is known, earlier this month, when Nintendo hosted a Direct with a third-party focus. But alas, we did not hear anything here.

As for The Duskbloods, this rather eclectic offering that includes jet packs and dinosaurs is a “PvPvE title with online multiplayer”, which features up to eight participants vying for “supremacy among themselves and against challenging foes”. It’s a Nintendo exclusive and again, we had hoped to hear more during that aforementioned Direct, but again we did not.

But thankfully though for those in the middle of the Nintendo/FromSoft venn diagram, both these titles are still on track to arrive this year. Kadokawa just released its latest financial results and shared in its Future Outlook that FromSoftware currently has multiple games in the development pipeline, specifically The Duskbloods and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. Here, the company noted both of these games are “slated for a 2026 release for Nintendo Switch 2”. I wonder what else From is working on…?

Anyway, hopefully it won’t be too much longer before we get either another look at The Duskbloods, or a release date for one or both games. When it does arrive on Nintendo’s console, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will include two new classes for players to choose from when they set off for the Lands Between.
