Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Finally Revealed

Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Finally Revealed

Zombie killing cheerleader Juliet Starling will return in Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back, it was announced today.

Set to launch on PlayStation 5 at some point in 2027, this long-awaited sequel features more fast-paced undead slicing, and even more of its plucky heroine Juliet, who appears to be wearing an even shorter skirt.

The original Lollipop Chainsaw debuted in 2012, and found cult status. It featured a witty script, partly penned James Gunn (before his days making Marvel and DC movies), and was the overall brainchild of Suda51, the legendary Japanese creator behind No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned and a slew of other offbeat ideas.

15 years on, however, neither Gunn or Suda51 are contributing to this sequel. Instead, it is the work of Dragami Games, which previously released a remaster of the original Lollipop Chainsaw to a mixed response. Today’s footage has also sparked a range of reactions on social media, where many have suggested that this sequel looks unpolished.

“Juliet returns, in a brand-new outfit and with even more power, to a rebuilt San Romero, now transformed into ‘Jaredwood,’ a sprawling metropolis built around the film industry,” reads a blurb for the new game. When a mysterious director traps her inside his twisted zombie movie, Juliet must fight alongside her allies, uncover the conspiracy behind the chaos, and stop a new threat posed by the Corrupted Realm zombies.”

Footage revealed today as part of Tokyo Games Show 2026 featured Juliet slicing up zombies on a street, where her new rollerskates allow her to zip about at a faster speed. Further footage revealed a boss battle against Zorbie, a zombie that appears to be a riff on Barbie.

Last year, a Lollipop Chainsaw anime series was also announced as being in development. There’s no further word on that today.
