Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Is Adding New Suit from Brand New Day for Free

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is adding content for the first time in years, and it’s completely free.

Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players will get free access to the new suit from Brand New Day starting July 28th. The suit seems to be a revised version of the one from No Way Home, which is an amalgamation of the suits worn by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. During the film’s development, Tom Holland noted that he sought feedback from fans online to try to make Brand New Day as good as it could be. That feedback led to revisions to the suit, which will also be reflected in the new update to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

A new trailer for Brand New Day was released today alongside ticket pre-sales, and it looks like another thrilling adventure for the web-head. As of right now, there are still a lot of questions about the film. We still have yet to get a clear answer on who Sadie Sink is playing, but the leading theory is that she is playing Jean Grey. The actress has been with the cast on the film’s press tour, but so far she hasn’t contributed much to the conversation due to the secretive nature of her character.

As for Insomniac’s Spider-Man, he’s been MIA since 2023, and that will likely remain the case for the foreseeable future. Insomniac Games has already confirmed that Spidey will not appear in Marvel’s Wolverine later this year, but it’s expected that the studio may already be working on another Spider-Man game as we speak. It will likely be another year or two before the game materializes. Perhaps we’ll get it as a launch title for PS6, like the Miles Morales game.

It’s unclear if Insomniac Games has any more plans to update Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The game famously had no DLC, unlike its predecessor. There’s a chance that the release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse next summer could add more suits to the game, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
