Nintendo Direct Broadcast Finally Confirmed

Nintendo has announced its next Nintendo Direct broadcast revealing details of upcoming Switch 2 games, which will stream online later this week.

Fans will be able to tune in tomorrow, Tuesday June 9, at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK time. The main show will last 50 minutes, before a 95-minute Treehouse Live segment straight after. You’ll be able to watch right here on IGN, and we’ll be reporting all of the big reveals live.

Intriguingly, Nintendo has said this Direct will focus on titles releasing in the second half of 2026 — suggesting the company still has several surprises in store for this fall and winter. This may also serve as a way to set expectations that we won’t see the next 3D Mario, which is believed to be coming in 2027.

Anticipation for this Nintendo Direct is sky high, as rumors swirl around what the company has in store for the latter half of 2026, and following a lengthy wait since the last full Nintendo Direct broadcast — all the way back in September 2025.

The months since have seen smaller shows dedicated to indie and third-party games, as well as a string of announcements released via social media and the company’s Nintendo Today app. Now, however, it’s time for a proper show.

So, what do we expect? Well, trusted leaker NatetheHate — who now has a strong Nintendo track record — has previously spilled details of a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake due out this Christmas. The project would also tie into 2026 being the Zelda franchise’s 40th anniversary — could other Zelda projects also be on the way, or could we get a first trailer for next year’s live-action Zelda movie?

Other leaks and rumors have whispered of a new Wario game, 2D Metroid, a Switch 2 Edition for Pikmin 4, and a fresh Switch Sports title. We’ll also likely see more of the Switch 2’s already-announced summer lineup, including Star Fox (June 25), Rhythm Heaven Groove (July 2), Splatoon Raiders (July 23), and Fire Emblem Shadows (September 25).

Of course, the past few days have already seen a string of third-party announcements for Switch 2, which will see Activision’s Spyro: A Ream Beyond and Sega’s Crazy Taxi: World Tour in 2027, a new Star Trek horror game from Silent Hill 2 developer Bloober Team, Rayman Legends Retold from Ubisoft, Monster Hunter Wilds and Resident Evil Veronica from Capcom, Minecraft Dungeons 2 from Microsoft, and Final Fantasy 7: Revelation from Square Enix next spring.
