Planet of Lana 2 release date announced, demo coming to PlayStation, PC and Xbox next week

Planet of Lana sequel Children of the Leaf has landed itself a release date.

As announced this afternoon, Planet of Lana 2 will arrive across PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch next month, on 5th March.

Ahead of this, those interested in dipping their toes into Wishfully’s upcoming sequel will be able to give a newly-announced demo a go. This will be available across Steam, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 from 11th February. Those on Nintendo consoles, don’t fret. It will also be coming to Switch and Switch 2, with a release date expected to be announced soon, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, you can check out the release date trailer for Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf below.

“As greed and power divide the tribes of their home planet, Lana and her little companion, Mui, must stand together against the forces reshaping their world – struggling not just for survival, but for the soul of their home,” reads the official blurb.

I have been hands-on with Planet of Lana 2 already, and I was charmed by Wishfully’s upcoming sequel. It has taken everything that I loved from the original, and levelled it up, to create a deeper narrative and more expressive world. That includes underwater sections, and a much more agile Lana.

As for the original, here is what Christian Donlan had to say about Planet of Lana on its release in 2023: “It’s a game that disappears in pleasant little sips… Nothing is introduced that is not easy to understand, so that you can get to the fun of puzzling how to use it quickly. Nothing is arduous to use – your AI companion is both beautifully behaved and responds to very clear controls, as does all the machinery you get to interact with in the later acts. There are brainteasers here, but no frustrations.”
