PlayStation Plus Essential headliner game for April leaks

One of the games expected to arrive along with April 2026’s PS Plus Essential lineup has leaked ahead of schedule.

According to the ever-reliable Dealabs, PS Plus subscribers will soon be able to get their hands on Souls-like action-RPG Lords of the Fallen as part of their membership. To be clear, I mean the second Lords of the Fallen from developer Hexworks, which was released back in 2023. Not the one from 2014.

The publication states Lords of the Fallen will be available for PlayStation Plus subscribers across its Essential, Extra and Premium tiers from 7th April. The game will then remain available to claim until the following month, on 5th May.

When Lords of the Fallen was initially released, we weren’t overly taken by it all. “Missing the elegance of FromSoftware, Lords of the Fallen is let down by Soulslike clichés and performance woes,” reads Eurogamer’s two star review. However, since then, Hexworks has made a number of improvements to the game, and I am pleased to say it is now in a much better state than it was at launch. A Lord of the Fallen sequel was subsequently announced to be in the works back in 2024, by publisher CI Games.

We can expect Sony to officially announce April’s PS Plus lineup in the near future, so stay tuned for more. For more on the service in the meantime, be sure to check out our guide to PS Plus and all the available games.
