The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation has earned the series another 16 Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Drama series.
Bella Ramsey has been nominated in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for their portrayal of Ellie. This is Ramsey’s second nomination for the role. In addition, both Kaitlyn Dever and Catherine O’Hara have been nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for their roles as Abby and Gail respectively.
Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal has been nominated for Lead Actor for his portrayal of Joel, and Joe Pantoliano and Jeffrey Wright have received nominations for their roles of Eugene and Isaac.
“On behalf of the entire development team at Naughty Dog, thank you to the Academy, and a huge congrats to the entire cast and crew of The Last of Us Season 2 on their Emmy nominations,” The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann wrote following the Emmy nomination announcements.
“To see the story of The Last of Us Part 2 celebrated and find new life and new fans has been a thrill for our studio.”

The first season of The Last of Us was nominated for 24 Emmys. It went on to win eight, including Outstanding Guest Actor for Nick Offerman’s portrayal of Bill.
The second season wrapped earlier this year, with a third season already confirmed to be in the pipeline. This month, The Last of Us video game creator Neil Druckmann announced he was stepping away from his creative involvement in HBO’s TV adaptation, calling this a “difficult decision”.
