Tides of Annihilation Gameplay Delivers Full Boss Fight as the Wait for a Release Date Continues

Tides of Annihilation showed up for today’s Xbox Partner Preview to give fans a lengthy boss fight to chew on while they wait for a release date.

Developer Eclipse Glow Games’ presence at the Microsoft presentation brought one of the longer segments of the show, giving fans an uninterrupted look at just one of its boss battles. It’s footage that focused on a mix of cinematic highlights and action-packed gameplay, with the goal being to show players just how Gwendolyn will be able to topple some of the tougher enemies thrown her way.

Tides of Annihilation was announced at a February PlayStation State of Play presentation as a single-player action game set in a magical version of London. Aside from its visuals and snappy action, it’s the boss fights that have had players hoping to see updates from Eclipse Glow sooner rather than later. Gameplay is no doubt the main draw for many, but the studio has made it clear that its story, which is said to be rooted in Arthurian legend, remains an important component, too.

“London lies in ruin, torn apart by an abrupt invasion from another realm,” a story setup for Tides of Annihilation says. “As Gwendolyn, the city’s last surviving inhabitant, you will face off against otherworldly foes as she navigates a world where reality and fantasy intertwine, unravelling the mysteries binding this shattered existence.”

Tides of Annihilation has no release date but is expected to eventually launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.
