‘You Know It’s Bad When You Have Dreams About the S**t’ — Resident Evil Requiem’s Infamous Spider Is Making Ice T Feel the Heat

Grammy Award-winning rap star Ice T is struggling with Resident Evil Requiem’s spider.

A day after IGN reported that Resident Evil Requiem was causing widespread problems for those who suffer from arachnophobia, the rapper and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actor has admitted he too is having issues.

“Resident Evil 9… F*** that Spider 🕷️,” Ice T wrote on social media last night, presumably after encountering the game’s arachnid boss for himself.

Previously, Ice T had said that he’d been enjoying what he’d played of Resident Evil Requiem so far. “I’ve been playing Resident Evil 9,” he wrote over the weekend. “Reminds me of the 1st one. Has me stressed the F out… Lol You know it’s bad when you have Dreams about the s***! lol #APPROVED 👍”

But Ice T is far from the only Resident Evil fan now encountering the game’s eight-legged enemy which, to be fair, is creepy as hell.

Warning! Resident Evil Requiem spoilers follow:

During a particular sequence set within the rubble of Raccoon City, Leon S. Kennedy finds himself in an area covered by cobwebs. It’s the start of a (literally) hairy section that many are now asking for help in order to complete.

Yesterday, IGN reported on the fact that fans were now asking for detailed instructions on how best to prepare for the fight, including how to kill the spider boss fast to get past it as quickly as possible. Other arachnophobia sufferers said they had only managed to get through the battle by removing their glasses, or even moving to a smaller TV screen, such was the level of fear that it prompted.

Resident Evil Requiem has no arachnophobia mode built in, though anyone playing on PC is now able to install a Thomas the Tank Engine train mod that replaces the offending spider with the infamous grinning train. So that’s something?

Ice T is known as a veteran gamer, with a particular penchant for Call of Duty and Fallout. He’s also appeared in a long list of games too, lending his voice to characters such as Gears of War 3’s Aaron Griffin, GTA: San Andreas’ Madd Dogg, and Borderlands 3’s Balex.

As for his prowess fighting zombies, perhaps Ice T is now conducting research for his next movie role. Later this year, he’ll appear in Zombie Plane, an Austalian action comedy that’s set to show what happens when a bizarre cast of celebrities is caught up in an undead outbreak. Ice T stars alongside a roster of Australian soap actors, fellow chilled water enthusiast Vanilla Ice, plus both Chuck Norris and Bob Geldof.

Earlier today, Capcom announced that Resident Evil Requiem had already passed the 5 million sales mark — a record for the franchise’s recent history. If you’re already one of the millions playing, IGN’s Resident Evil: Requiem guide will help you every step of the way through RE9. Take note of these key tips and tricks before you get started, and focus on finding these important items early. Plus, our comprehensive walkthrough will make sure you don’t miss a single Bobblehead or file as you try to survive from the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center all the way to Raccoon City.
