Space Marine 2 has done so well, it’s getting a third year of post-launch support

Focus Entertainment has announced that its hit grimdark third-person shooter Space Marine 2 is getting a third year of post-launch support.

In a post published to the official Focus Entertainment community website, the company starts by celebrating 12 million players buying the game and showcasing the full year two roadmap for the game. Then, it dives into the big reveal for the game’s future.

The post reads: “Space Marine 2’s live support has officially been extended into a third year, bringing even more free updates and DLC content. Lately, our updates have been very well received by the community, which really motivates us to keep up the momentum for the third year.

“Everything that didn’t make it into the updated Year 2 roadmap will now roll over into Year 3, even though we’re not ready to share more details just yet. Don’t worry, all content that has been postponed will remain free, as it was planned for Year 2.”

It was already well-known that Space Marine 2 did exceptionally well for Focus Entertainment. It was the biggest Steam launch success for a Warhammer 40,000 game, and the game’s publisher Sabre Interactive was quick to announce a sequel was in development with a short but sweet Space Marine 3 teaser.

For now, there’s plenty of juicy stuff for Space Marine 2 fans to dive into. The blog post also revealed the full scope of the year two roadmap, which includes a big patch in quarter two and three of this year. These include champion packs for the Iron Hands and Salamanders space marine chapters, plus a cosmetics pack for the Raptors in quarter 3.

That quarter two 2026 patch will include a Techmarine champion class to play, a new PvE map, and new ultra-challenging “trials of resolve” Ordeals which are intended to be very difficult challenges for diehard players to grind out.

There’s also going to be a single player practice option on the Battle Barge hub, new options for character customisation, a new sidearm, three new heroic weapon variants, and multiple perk loadouts. So all in all, a sizable patch which should help keep momentum going for the popular sci-fi shooter.
