Grounded 2 is still in early access, but at IGN Live, we got a quick look at its next DLC, Into the Abyss, which will be coming on April 11.
The first minute of the trailer is this highlight reel of Grounded 2’s first year in Early Access, featuring these quick cuts between the large (to you) plants and insects that you’d typically see in the game. And while the soundtrack starts off with this mysterious melody, it soon brightens up to compliment the whimsy of the game, with one of the characters even saying about the giant bugs “it’s ok, they’re not actually monsters, we’re just, well a lot smaller now”.
Once we get the title card, about a minute in, the camera cuts to a much darker environment than Brookhollow Park, to preview the new DLC, Into the Abyss. Here, we can see a character in what looks like a space suit is exploring with a flashlight, until a giant mantis-looking creature rises up behind them. The creatures in Grounded 2 might not be monsters, but maybe that will be changing in this new DLC.
Either way, we’ll be able to see what’s in the Abyss when this DLC launches on August 11, 2026.
