Dispatch Finally Lands on Xbox This Month, Uncensored Scenes and All

Hit superhero workplace comedy game Dispatch will finally land on Xbox this month, developer AdHoc Studio has announced.

Dispatch will touch down on Microsoft’s machine in two weeks, on Wednesday, July 29, and you can wishlist it via the Xbox Store right now. Its launch comes the best part of a year since it began rolling out on PC and PlayStation 5 last October.

A Switch 2 version arrived in January of this year, though its debut was marred by the unexpected addition of last-minute censorship. A patch last month largely alleviated the issue — and at the time, it was confirmed that the Xbox version would not suffer a similar fate.

Developed by veterans of The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us studio Telltale Games, Dispatch originally launched episodically — though there’s no word of a staggered release for the Xbox version’s various chapters. And, to be clear, there’s no word yet on it arriving via Game Pass.

First announced for Xbox during March’s Xbox Partner Preview showcase, Dispatch is alaugh-out-loud superpowered adventure where you send a team of reformed misfits out to save the world, and each other.

“A true spiritual successor to the Telltale Games of the 2010s, Dispatch cleverly toes the line between TV show and video game, delivering on both halves in equal measure,” we wrote in IGN’s Dispatch review, which returned a 9/10 score. “Its cavalcade of multidimensional characters shines thanks to great writing further buffeted by a star-studded cast. An emotional rollercoaster in all the right ways, Dispatch is a decision-packed adventure that hones in on the hero behind the super.”

Last month, we caught up with the actual Telltale Games to find out why its long-awaited The Wolf Among Us sequel has taken so long, and why it parted ways with AdHoc, which was originally set to help develop it.
