Planet Coaster and Jurassic World developer Frontier partners with Disney for a new video game

Frontier Developments – the developer behind Planet Coaster and Jurassic World – has announced a partnership with Disney. As part of this collaboration, a new Disney game is in production.

What exactly this game will be has not yet been announced, nor has a release window been established. All we know is it will be using Disney’s IP, is fully funded by Frontier, and will “build upon the Company’s extensive experience and proven capabilities as a leader in the Creative Management Simulation (CMS) genre” according to a new press release.

Jo Cooke, CEO of Frontier, said: “We are delighted to announce this collaboration with Disney, which further reinforces our clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises.

“Our mission with this game is to connect a passionate creative community of players with one of the world’s most iconic and beloved brands, and I can’t wait to see what our talented teams will create with this amazing opportunity.”

This news comes just a week before Frontier will be releasing its quarterly earnings, during what appears to be quite the exciting time for the studio. Planet Zoo 2, scheduled to release this October, is expanded to include flying and aquatic creatures. It’ll also be launching to a variety of platforms outside of PC, something its predecessor achieved gradually after its initial release.

Other than that, we know Frontier is also working on another unannounced management game, though what exactly it is is also uncertain as of writing. Its latest release, Jurassic World Evolution 3, proved quite popular among management fans and dinosaur enthusiasts alike.

What could this Disney game be? It’s anyone’s guess but as we’re in this fun period of baseless speculation I’d love a game based around managing one of those Disney theme parks rather than a game set within the fictional settings of one Disney’s many IPs. One can hope!
