Here we go again: Sony is showing off two State of Play showcases today, the first focusing on games coming to the PlayStation 5 over the coming weeks and months, and the second focusing on Japanese games specifically. This is a first for Sony, usually the company might show slightly different showcases in different regions, but this is a unique setup – with Japan getting its own dedicated showing after the broader State of Play.
We have no insight into how long these showcases will last, but we do – at least – know when the whole thing is going to kick off. Taking place today (3rd September), the back-to-back presentations will kick off at:
- USA (Pacific) – 6am
- USA (Eastern) – 9am
- UK (BST) – 2pm
- Central Europe (CEST) – 3pm
- Japan (JST) – 10pm
Usually, we’d have the loyal and stalwart Bertie sitting in on the livestream, diligently reporting on everything that’s being revealed as it happens. But he’s taking a well-earned break today, so you’re all lumped with me, instead. Sorry! Hey, at least you’re in good hands when it comes to all the Japanese stuff; I’m a sucker for that side of our industry and I will do my very best to impart that knoweldge as it comes up.
We’ve got about 15 minutes before it all kicks off, so what are you expecting to see? It goes without saying we’ll probably get more Wolverine – the game is out very soon – but I’m also expecting to see more from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, finally. On the Japanese side of things, am I being naive if I think we might get more information on Persona 6? Probably, right? Oh, well, an Atlus fan can dream!
