Nintendo’s Zelda Notes app is expanding for the remake of Ocarina of Time, adding a playable Ocarina, in-game stats, and more.
During today’s Zelda-centric Direct, Nintendo said the Zelda Notes app is expanding to add a bunch of new features unique to Ocarina of Time. Zelda Notes was previously introduced as a companion app for the Switch 2 versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, but it’s getting a big update for the remake.
The app will include a stat tracker which will give you daily stats based on recent play sessions of Ocarina of Time, informing you of how many enemies you have slain and more. It will also add a playable ocarina that you can use directly from your mobile device, allowing you to even compose your own scores you can share via a QR code. There’s also a Zelda quiz that features over 2,000 questions.
Perhaps more notably, Zelda Notes will also add a feature that allows you to use hint images on your device to track down a hidden quest in-game. All of this is completely optional, but will enhance the experience for players who decide to get involved.
Highlights from the Zelda Direct included a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake release date, which puts it near the blast radius of GTA 6. Of course, GTA 6 isn’t launching on Switch 2, so we’re talking about two different audiences. Nintendo, clearly, isn’t worried about Rockstar’s behemoth.
Additionally, Nintendo revealed a pair of amiibo for Ocarina of Time remake, allowing fans to collect figures of young Zelda and young Link for unique in-game items. In case you missed it, here’s everything announced at The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct.
