During today’s Nintendo Direct, the publisher and platform holder announced the next 2D Metroid game, called Metroid Ravenous.
The amazingly-titled game’s first trailer showed us Samus being attacked by strange a variety of enemies that take her energy, as she seems to show a darker side of herself. “It’s eat or be eaten,” she says to an enemy at the end, with a concerning glint in her eye. It seems like a sequel to Mercury Steam’s excellent Metroid Dread.
The game launches 28th January, 2027, and will come with a special edition two new amiibo figures. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the game; it was initially leaked in a ratings board listing in Brazil.
More information to follow.
