Ubisoft has detailed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s final major content update, revealing a closer look at new game+, Nightmare difficulty, and more.
The publisher behind the Assassin’s Creed 4 remake broke down some of the most-requested features finally set to make their way to players in a video published today. It’s one last push that’s set to drop tomorrow, October 27, to keep players plundering before Edward Kenway sails off into the sunset yet again.
New game+ and Nightmare difficulty are no doubt the highlights here. The first addition is mostly self-explanatory, allowing players to start a new save file with all of the tools they gathered from a previous, completed playthrough. It supports up to new game+ 5 and, as detailed by game director Richard Knight, gives players “plenty of opportunities to push your skills to the limit and unlock exclusive rewards.”
If running it back through the West Indies isn’t enough of a challenge, there’s Nightmare difficulty. A description for the harder mode’s version of Activities, for example, says that “harpooning preys are the most vicious” and “underwater breath is very limited.” In addition to making Edward’s journey more dangerous, the final major content update is “more spectacular” thanks to a collection of new takedown animations.
“And that’s not all,” Knight said. “Alongside these new features, we’ve also added new Easter Eggs, a host of rewards to discover – including community-inspired trinkets – new outfits, sails, and even adorable new pet cat skins.
“Thank you for your support, fan art, videos, and millions of photos shared in photo mode. It was a real honor to bring back Edward’s legacy to life and to see that same excitement find its echo amongst you throughout the year.”

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S July 9, 2026. IGN gave it a 9/10 review, saying, “More than just a shinier version of the same game you remember, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings what was already one of the best games in the series up to today’s standards.”
Title update 1.0.8 will indeed be the final major content update when it launches tomorrow, but Ubisoft may continue to deliver smaller quality-of-life fixes should the opportunity arise. Until then, you can see what percentage of players have struggled to take down those infamous Legendary Ships.
