Tonight we’ll get probably our best look at Grand Theft Auto 6 yet, as Rockstar’s ‘extended look’ trailer airs exclusively on Netflix. We’ll be watching it live and reporting on everything we see, here, in this article.
The GTA 6 extended look trailer airs on Netflix at 8pm BST (9pm CEST / 3pm EDT / 12pm PDT). And note: this is a timed exclusive, so if you’re not a subscriber to that streaming video service, you’ll have to wait six hours until 2am BST (3am CEST / 9pm EDT / 6pm PDT) to watch, when the extended look trailer is added to Rockstar’s YouTube channel.
What are we expecting to see? Gameplay, ideally. We’ve had two official trailers show us montages of action across Leonidas (the game’s version of Florida), but we haven’t yet seen – officially – what it’s like to play the game. Unofficially, of course, we have: days of GTA 6 gameplay video leaks have given us a pretty broad idea of what to expect. But this trailer ought to provide a much more authored and considered look.
We’re expecting to see more of the dual protagonists Lucia and Jason and the reportedly “seamless” switching between them as they explore; more of the San Andreas-like role-playing systems in the game around exercising and eating; and more of the staggering level of detail and realism Rockstar’s army of developers has created.
We’re not sure how long the GTA 6 extended look trailer will be, incidentally, but we expect it to be fairly substantial given the pomp around a Netflix premiere.
