Gundam Rogue Orbit Revealed by Bandai Namco

As revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026, Gundam Rogue Orbit is a new action game from Bandai Namco that’s set to let players pilot their own mechs in 2027.

The video shown at the June showcase gave players a mix of cinematic and gameplay footage. The player character can be seen sliding around enemies big and small, with in-game footage all backed by heavy metal music to set the tone.

“Suit up for humanity,” an official description from Bandai Namco said. “Pilot your mobile suit and fight for survival in 2027.”

In a press release, Bandai Namco said Gundam Rogue Orbit “introduces a brand-new timeline in the Gundam saga, where humanity must fight for survival against an unknown threat.” The goal is to bring in longtime fans and newcomers while delivering an experience that stays true to everything existing fans enjoy about the series.

It will do that with what it calls “high-mobility action” and “intense, hard-hitting combat.” On it recently established website, players looking forward to Gundam Rogue Orbit are told to expect gameplay that rewards quick thinking and combat mastery.

“In Gundam Rogue Orbit, players will suit up as ace pilot RE-X, the protagonist in this new chapter for Gundam,” an official description for its story said. “Step into the cockpit of Gundam Helix, RE-X’s high-mobility suit, so he along with a rag-tag crew of unsung soldiers, can fight to be humanity’s last hope for survival against this unknown enemy.

“Gundam Rogue Orbit will feature explosive fast-paced battles set in sprawling environments, with players taking on enemy hordes, massive bosses, and seemingly insurmountable challenges, set against an engaging Sci-Fi backdrop. For Gundam fans, the title promises to deliver the emotionally charged moments and unforgettable action that have made the series one of the world’s most beloved entertainment franchises while also introducing a thrilling new direction for Gundam.”

In a separate post, Bandai Namco confirmed that Gundam Rogue Orbit is expected to release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S sometime next year. The publisher promised to reveal more “in the coming months.” For all of the biggest highlights from the show, you can see everything announced at Summer Game Fest 2026.
