Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is blocked in 132 countries due to Sony’s controversial PSN linking requirement – but its Steam page is still visible

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is blocked in 132 countries, once again due to Sony’s controversial PSN linking requirement.

Much like Helldivers 2, which was pulled from sale in 177 countries in 2024 as its PSN linking requirement rolled out in countries where PSN wasn’t available, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ Steam backend confirms the fighting game will “not [be available] in 132 countries” on Steam.

Though we’ve suspected for some time now that some territories could be blocked from playing, some fighting fans in blocked countries are confused that they can still access Marvel Tōkon’s Steam page.

As one player explained it: “This is weird. When PSN was mandatory I couldn’t access the store page of the game. I couldn’t access or buy God of War Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2. Once the PSN stopped being mandatory then I could buy those games. How come this game store isn’t invisible [to me in this country] and how come I can purchase this game?”

Another added, “Tokon’s assumedly going to be a main-stage game at EVO for the 2027 circuit and you cannot legally obtain the game in Morocco, one of the countries hosting EVO next year. That sure is a decision that Sony made”.

Head on over to SteamDB for the full list of blocked countries.

Guilty Gear developer Arc System Works unveiled new tag team fighter Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls last year, confirming the 4v4 superhero fighting game will drop on PS5 and PC. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ full launch roster has now been confirmed: Storm, Magik, Wolverine, Danger, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Peni Parker, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Hulk, Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, Carnage, Ghost Rider, Blade, Deadpool, and Loki.

An open beta for PS5 and PC is set for 24th to 26th July.
