Nintendo is bringing both Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel to Switch consoles as a double pack.
Super Mario Galaxy was originally released on the Wii as that generation’s big 3D Mario game, which was then followed by a sequel. While the first game was part of the limited Super Mario 3D All-Stars release on Switch, the sequel was not.
The double pack will be available on 2nd October on both Switch and Switch 2, along with new Amiibo (from 4th October).
The release comes alongside the next Mario film, titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The film will be based on these classics, so it makes sense Nintendo would re-release them as part of the Mario 40th anniversary.
The games see Mario exploring planets in space with innovative gravity-based platforming; both were celebrated upon their respective releases.
