You’ll need to re-earn all your PUBG PlayStation trophies as of next week

The team behind PUBG will be making the full transition to current gen consoles in just over one week’s time, meaning it will no longer be playable on Xbox One and PS4.

In a new blog update, the developer stated the PS5 version will also have its own trophies, so previously earned trophies will be reset. “We explored various options with Sony Interactive Entertainment to make trophy transfer possible, but due to the large volume of related data, we confirmed that it is technically difficult to implement,” the PUBG team explained. “We kindly ask for your understanding.”

It again stressed that while those on Xbox with the game already installed will get the current-gen version automatically, those on PS5 will need to specifically download the latest version to keep playing. It’s an entirely new application, which means your settings won’t be saved.

As previously reported, the last gen shutdown will come into effect on 13th November with Update 38.2, which PUBG players will be able to preload from 12th November. When the update is live, the supported specifications on PlayStation 5 consoles and Xbox Series X/S consoles will be as follows:

Xbox Series SXbox Series XPlayStation®5PlayStation®5 Pro
Resolution1080p / 1440p2160p1440p2160p
FPS60fps / 30fps60fps60fps60fps

Elsewhere in related news, PUBG creator Brendan Greene is gearing up to release a new game known as Prologue: Go Wayback! In a change to what you may perhaps expect, Prologue: Go Wayback! has no combat and instead focuses on survival skills.
