As Dragon’s Dogma 2 gets a large, mysterious patch on Steam for its second anniversary, we wonder: is this more proof of that rumoured DLC drop?

Dragon’s Dogma 2 received a mysterious and rather hefty update on SteamDB, further igniting hopes that Capcom is gearing up to announce some new content for its acclaimed action RPG.

Over on Steam, the platform revealed a chunky add-on. Many have put two and two together and believe this relates to a potential DLC, and Capcom is currently testing for new content.

As for that file update, it will up Dragon’s Dogma 2 download size to 77GB. The base game installation is 65GB, so that extra 12GB will be new content of some description, and would be about the right size for DLC. For reference, Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion had a download size of approximately 16GB across most platforms.

This update isn’t the only suggestion that we will be getting more Dragon’s Dogma 2 content soon. Earlier this year, Capcom released some new artwork to celebrate the game’s second anniversary, and many believe they spotted some DLC clues tucked away within. In the background of this artwork was a seemingly new character with their back turned on the party (see image below). Their single braid and attire aren’t in the base game according to eagle-eyed fans.

Meanwhile, the “2nd anniversary” banner on this artwork had several letters marked with red flags, which could be rearranged to read “2nd Arisen”.

The original Dragon’s Dogma received an expanded version of its own known as Dark Arisen, which dramatically transformed the game. So while Capcom has not announced any DLC for its second series entry, it wouldn’t exactly be surprising to learn it has something akin to this planned.

So, what do you hope to see in Dragon’s Dogma 2’s future?

If Capcom does indeed announce some new Dragon’s Dogma 2 content soon, it will be another arrow in the company’s already bumper 2026 quiver. The studio released Resident Evil Requiem to critical and commercial acclaim back in February, and is currently on the cusp of releasing its long-in-the-works space hacking game, Pragmata. And, if early reviews are anything to go by, it seems Capcom has another hit on its hands.

“Emboldened by years of success, Capcom’s risky 360-era shooter dares to tackle sci-fi shooter convention in a proudly experimental gamble,” our Dom wrote in Eurogamer’s four star Pragmata review.
