It sure looks like Starfield is coming to Switch 2.
Bethesda’s space-based RPG recently made the move to PlayStation 5, having initially released on Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2023. And after a smattering of rumours, it now seems certain that it will also be coming to Nintendo’s console in the future.
As spotted by Universo Nintendo, Starfield has been rated for the Switch 2 by Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information Board. So while we don’t yet have any official word from Bethesda or Nintendo, this rating all but confirms the port is indeed coming.

Bethesda has a number of other games either on or releasing on Switch 2, so it is not exactly a surprise to hear that Starfield could also be joining Nintendo’s growing third party catalogue. Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition materialised on Switch 2 earlier this year, while Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is due to arrive next month, on 12th May.
As for Starfield, its PS5 debut coincided with two content drops: the Free Lanes update and the Terran Armada DLC. Terran Armada is a new story DLC that allows players to “shape the future of humanity in space”, while coming face to face with “robotic forces”. Essentially this DLC adds another questline to Starfield, and introduces new locations, as well as new characters to chat with, enemies to annihilate and – of course – systems to explore.
The Free Lanes update, meanwhile, added a myriad of fan-requested features from guinea pig-like creatures for your outpost and a Milliewhale pet (which I have to admit is pretty cute), to new encounters, resources, dungeons, crew members, and a new land vehicle known as the Moon Jumper.
Since its release on PS5, Starfield has reportedly sold roughly 140K copies. However, it hasn’t been the smoothest of starts, and many PS5 players were met with crashes and other technical issues. Some even requested refunds.
Earlier this week, Bethesda acknowledged Starfield’s PS5 crashes, and assured a fix would be coming soon.
