You’d think, with the frenzy surrounding the Pokémon TCG right now, any available Elite Trainer Boxes (ETBs) would be flying off the shelf. But while Ascended Heroes continues to break bank accounts, Mega Evolution—Perfect Order has had a surprisingly rough time since its March launch. No Kanto chase cards and a smaller collection might sound like bad news at first, but it actually means fans can buy Pokémon cards at a reasonable price without fighting off a swarm of bots.

In fact, Perfect Order has just hit a new low price, on Amazon no less. You can save 19% and snag a Mega Evolution—Perfect Order ETB for $68.95, compared to the list price of $84.99.

Now, the Braviary-eyed among us might have noticed this is still above MSRP, which was $49.99/£54.99. That’s true. But paying a slight premium, still the best price on the third-party market, for a guaranteed, reputable shipment from Amazon is the best play right now.

Compare that to Ascended Heroes, where, even with two recent launches, ETBs are going for a listed median of $197.99 on third-party resale websites like TCGPlayer. Yikes! You could effectively buy three Perfect Order ETBs for the price of a single Ascended Heroes box and still have change left over for a coffee.

The Elite Trainer Box contains 9 booster packs, a full-art Tyrunt promo card, and 65 card sleeves. It also includes 40 Energy cards, a player’s guide, and 6 damage-counter dice. You will also receive a competition-legal coin-flip die, a plastic coin, and a collector’s box with 6 dividers to keep everything organised. Not bad for $79.38/£58.28!

So why isn’t it selling? Part of it could be due to the fact that Special Illustration Rare (SIR) pull rates are quite fair (approximately 1 in 81 packs according to TCGPlayer), which keeps the price of chase cards low.

Could this be the ‘Perfect’ time to build out your collection? Or are you waiting for another expansion? If you want to pick up this deal, you’d better move fast.
