You Can Play Buckshot Roulette in Real Life at this Tokyo Cafe — and Even Drink an Arctic Eggs Cocktail

The Ukiyo Game Bar in Tokyo is going viral for its unique guest experience that lets customers play Buckshot Roulette in real life… well, sort of.

First announced on October 9, guests can make their reservations to play a game of Buckshot Roulette until November 9, 2026. Of course, this isn’t actual Russian Roulette (which would be extremely dangerous, not to mention wildly illegal), but instead a fun recreation of the viral indie game with non-lethal mechanics.

As shown in a tweet posted by the bar and photos shared by guests, hosts will don a mask of the dealer’s terrifying face and wield a prop shotgun as players gather round the roulette table with their drinks in tow.

Speaking of drinks, Ukiyo Game Bar also has a few themed cocktails on offer, one of which is themed after the hit indie game Arctic Eggs. Made in collaboration with the game’s developer, The Water Museum, this delightful drink even features a gummy in the shape of a fried egg. (These gummies aren’t actually available in Japan; an American staff member shipped 2 kilos worth of them in from the States.)

Photos of the Buckshot Roulette experience quickly went viral on social media, leaving fans with severe FOMO and scrambling to make travel plans.

In Buckshot Roulette, players sign a waiver and engage in a version of Russian Roulette with a Shotgun against a mysterious and terrifying opponent. There’s more to it than pulling the trigger and hoping you don’t meet a grisly end; there are a variety of items on offer that players can use to their advantage and tip the odds in their favor with the goal of surviving — and making off with a major cash prize.

Buckshot Roulette also boasts a multiplayer mode if you’d like to raise the stakes with your friends. The game is published by Critical Reflex, home to a bunch of other quirky, viral indie games like Mouthwashing, No, I’m not a Human, and even Arctic Eggs. All three of those games are now available to play on Xbox, as revealed during the 2026 ID@Xbox showcase this month.
