Battlefield 6’s next patch will address the game’s most frustrating problem ahead of Season One’s release

Battlefield 6‘s update 1.1.1.0 is set to go live tomorrow, a day before the Season 1 launch, and it’s taking a sledgehammer to one of the biggest problems players have had with the game since launch.

The key change in question addresses weapon dispersion, which has been throwing off player’s shots ever since the game released earlier this month. For those unaware, weapon dispersion refers to bullets spreading out from where you’re aiming when you look down sights. Players have been taking shots they feel should be hitting, only to see them miss the target, leading to frustration.

According to the patch notes, the patch will rework weapon dispersion as to: “better align accuracy and handling with each weapon’s intended design and performance over range. These changes address cases where accuracy behaved inconsistently, such as dispersion not properly settling after sprinting, and bring overall firing behavior closer to the intended balance between precision, control, and weapon power.”

PC players have been jumping into the in-game settings to help remedy this problem, so here’s hoping these tweaks leave the game in a good state when it comes to the shooting portion of this hugely popular FPS.

The 1.1.1.0 update will also be improving core movement animations, improving lighting and visibility, overhauling the audio, updated the UI and HUD, and fixing a scattering of problems on some maps. There’s also a massive list of smaller changes on the way, including the ability to leap uphill, and the ability to customise your parachute. Nice.

This update should hopefully place the game in a solid state ahead of the Season One update, which is bringing a new game mode, a new giant map, new weapons, a shiny new vehicle, and other additions to EA and Battlefield Studios’ blockbuster military shooter.
