Square Enix has finally announced, as part of today’s Summer Games Fest showcase, some more information about the third instalment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. It’s called Final Fantasy 7 Revelation
Whilst we knew that the title has, in fact, had a name for quite a while, it’s not something we’ve been privy to. And here we go: it’s not one of the titles we expected: namely, Reunion, Regurgitated, or Retold.
In a packed trailer, we saw some of the game’s key moments; fights with Vincent Valentine, Cid, Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and more, against multiple enemies (including some of the Weapons. If you know, you know).
During the showcase, Naoki Hamaguchi told us all that the key theme of this entry in the series is ‘resolve’, in that Cloud and his pals will each see through the key tenats of their journey that have carried them through to their destinations so far.
Check out the trailer below.
Prior to this blowout during Sony’s State of Play showcase, we’d managed to glean a few hints about what to expect from the game, but nothing too meaningful. We knew, for instance, that all-round nice-but-irritating lab assistant Chadley, would return in Part 3, perhaps as a way to streamline mini-games for Square Enix’s third entry in the revisited FF7 universe. We also knew that Naoki Hamaguchi has already completed “over 40 full playthroughs” of the game that the title will not “compromise on graphics whatsoever” despite move to multiplatform release.
Expect more news to emerge on the game in coming days.
